RE: this sucks! its like killing me
You know there is this old Indian saying "only the rocks are forever". I feel your pain brother. I got a call from a friend who has let me exclusively hunt his land for the past 5 years the night before opening day. He said he had a friend from work that wanted to hunt it and he just wanted to let me know someone else would be out there. It's only 150 acres. I was pissssssssssssssssed! But what could I do? Go out in the back yard and throw sticks. Really there isn't anything you can do. You still have 3 months to find some new land and scout it. See if you can find some land that hasn't ever been hunted. Or perhaps you can pool the money you would spend in lease to purchase some family land. Well the best I can say is sorry brother. Honestly, if you need I'll find some big rocks or sticks that we can throw together.

Another fine addition to HNI.
I feel for you. I really do. It's sad that hunting has come to this, but it is what it is. I remember the days before hunting became cool to the white collar crowd who started this leasing business to begin with.

Just because you've been hunting somewhere all you life does not mean that it will be there for your enjoyment forever. Either buy the land yourself or stop crying when someone does. It's really that simple. Oh - and you are going to lose your shirt if you ever bet anyone that you can spell the word, "aggravated".
On a related note. I went back to my home town recently and found that the diner I had eaten at as a child had closed. Can you believe it? Oh sure, the owners got old and nobody wanted to keep the thing alive, but I just think there should be a law or something to force these people to keep that part of my childhood intact. We'll call it the "It's All About Me Law".

This isn't hunting, it's the internet. And what's sad? That he corrected him on his grammar? Damn those teachers, damn them straight to hell!!!!

well as much as it sucks that's just something you have to get over man. you know what's really not fair? when people from out of town start emerging every fall around your hometown. when you can't hunt where you once could because they've leased the land and turned it into an out of town hunting club that you can't afford to join. but you get over it. you're a man aren't you men don't cry, they suck it up and if they have the resolve and the determination, they work their asses off until they can afford to buy what they want, and until that time they hunt gamelands or anywhere they can.
but there's no crying in the woods.
