You shouldn't be ashamed of baiting. I bait in some spots and in some spotsI don't. It doesn't always help. I have never had a good buck come into a pile of corn. Do what is legal in your area. Baiting is alot of work and can get expensive and often it doesn't pay off.

You do a pre-hunt wake-n-bake and get the munchies and those three cans of corn will never make it out of the kitchen.[&:]

Its starting to feel like all we do is run around in circles with this topic, doesn't it? Every couple of weeks someone brings it up and we get nowhere. I think we've figured out that we all have our own opinions and others shouldn't matter. I think its time to lock this one up, seems like we just get the same few people bashing each other everytime this topic comes up. I think "To each his own" now let's leave this topic alone!

For the guys that have been baiting a while would you consider yourselves
"Master" baiters? Just asking.

That never gets old.

Here is how I feel, and how EVERYONE SHOULD feel about this, and other subjects/hunting styles other than what we personally do-even IF I don't agree with a certain style of hunting,or wether I personally think it's the same degree as sporting as the style I hunt,we ALL should be united against the common enemy-anti hunters. For example, everybody knows that Personally I don't consider extreme long range shooting or baiting as hunting BY MY definition-my definition ONLY, however I WILL fight for the right for ANYONE'S right to hunt by whatever legal means/style they prefer. Just because I personally don't hunt like that, or like that kind of hunting style, DON'T mean we should divide and fight amongst ourselves-hell we among this forum won't have to worry about another of us intruding on our particular area without being invited in the 1st place, the people we have to worry about aren't on this forum anyway.

As long as it's legal in your area go for it. Ain't no different to me than tryin to catch fish on a hook with a worm on it. You don't see a bunch of folks gettin' all up in arms over using bait to catch a fish do ya? Try catching that same fish without the worm and just use the hook. Sure it's harder but that doesn't make it any better or worse practice. Hunting over bait's the same in my book. It's not legal here so I don't do it. If it were legal here I'd do it sure. Just keep it legal and all is well.

How many ways can you say....

Well since this is my first post here I will take a breath and only say this....

Anyone who actually thinks there is a difference between hunting food plots and feeders really need to rethink what they are saying....

To the poster who said there is a difference because one you work a little harder putting it in so therefore it is different...PLEASE! How crazy it that?

There is no difference from hunting over a feeder or hunting over a corn field, wheat field or anything else.

If anyone can actually produce an ounce of REAL logic to this then please proceed.

I hunt in an area where the land is too poor to sustain a food plot. Not only that but it does not get enough rain on average to keep it growing even if you could get it to come up. I feed year around so I provide nurishment to the deer year around not just during the deer season.

Frankly if I was in a part of the country where I could still hunt and never hunt from a stand that would be my kind of hunting but unfortunately the statewhere I live the only way you can safely hunt and still hunt in a place where you see deer is to stand hunt.
