antler hunting

RE: antler hunting
Well I usually start around the end of January. I don't usually findanything at this time, but I love to be out there scouting and if I find a bone it's a bonus.
I usually find at leastone antler when I amturkeyhunting inthe spring. I like to hit it hard after the snow meltsusually mid to lateMarch where I am from.
Someday I would like to get a dog to help me find them.

Walk around bushes/woods/field edges. I've had my best luck on powerlines(good visibilty and food source), and a couple on fencelines. GO SLOW, them things are hard to spot, and take your bino's with you too. I have never found any till late febuary, and they get easier to see in mid march (the colors start to whiten up).
