I need a shed antler hunting dog. Pics!
Here is a matched set of antlers my buddy is holding. There is a good chance it could be the buck he saw a few times but could not get a good shot at. A neighbor's dog of the property he hunts on dragged these up on two successive days. Its a 8 pt. with good mass. Should be a monster next season.

awesome find!! My shed hunting buddy passed away two summers ago, was just out for an hour lookin around, most still have their bone on in this area, so im gonna wait a week or two before i put some serious time in.
Hopefully by next year i'll have a new dog to take w/ me.

A shed hunting dog. Is that like a truffle hunting pig? That buck's rack is beautiful. Nice long tines, lots of mass, nearly perfectly typical... just beautiful.
All the bucks here seem to still be sporting their head gear so I'll be waiting around a while before giving it a go.

Neat pics Cougar, and nice sgeds. I have read articals on shed dogs before and i think it would be awesome. A guy i work with from Illinois was driving down his road several years ago when he seen a neighbors dog carrying on of those three pounders [8D]from an Illinois buck. He stopped and took it away from the dog, poor pooch.
