When is the right time to start looking for antler sheds? And which area is better to look in the bedding area or feeding are?

There was a poster on here a couple of years ago that said they would take corn and scatter it among thick bushes (like plum bushes)and along hogwire fences with the theory that the antlers would get knocked off while the bucks were feeding. Should work.......
