Funny thing is that it was probably some kids on 4-wheelers that messed things up instead of a hunter. We occasionally have problems with that in the area where i own land, but i would not use that as an excuse to not let innocent people hunt my ground.
Like other folks said, I would try to sit down and have a long talk with the guy and explain that having you around may be the best way to help prevent people coming around and tearing stuff up. Think that offering to help repair the damage would be a great move as well. if he is a drinking man, I would suggestbringing a 12 pack with youand catch him whenyou know he is about to stop work. Have a couple beers and lay out your case, then head out and leave the rest of the beer with him.

Yeah i agree with a lot people. Talk to him, tell him your side. Tell him you will keep others out. I got permission with my neighbor because people kept tresspassing on her land, I said if im hunting there i would put in end to it. She went for it, and i did put an end to it. Also, tell him you will buy him some trees and plant them, small price to pay for some good hunting.

First of all, welcome to the forum.
Second, can you blame him? Once when I was younger, me and my dad had a place on the river where we had permission to fish and had good access to put a boat in the river. We used it for about 10-12 years until one of the farm hands sons threw a party out there and it got busted by the police (turned out not to be the first time). The gate got closed and locked. We put in many hours of fishing and taking care of the property always making sure we left it better than we found it when we arrived. As bad as that sucks, I'm sure the land owner finally got sick and tired of cleaning up the hundereds of beer cans and all the other trash so his cattle wouldn't get injured. If I was in his shoes I may have done the same thing. Goes the same with your hunting property owner. It's really bad shoes to be in, but you can't control what other people do. With that being said, you can control what you do. You can seperate yourself from the other hunters there and form a good releationship with the landowner above just being one of the guys who he lets hunt there. I beleive good deeds, good conversation and maybe a nice christmas gift (even if it's a basket full of deer meat) can seperate you from the rest. Let him know that you are appreciative for the opportunity he has given you and maybe you can get back in. It's worth a try. What do you have to lose now? All he can say is no, which will be no different than the situation your in.

Welcome!
I'm also from NH (Salem area).
Sounds like your out of luck unless you can catch a break with his sensitive side by offering a helping hand, it might take a few years to crack him, who knows?!
Good luck and start planning to add hunting spots to your inventory, that never hurts.
