I've shot deer with 105gr extended range outa a 6mm rem and 100 gr corelokts right now im loading 95gr Nosler Bt. Deer arn't armor proof.

80 grn should be fine. Shot placement is the key though, as many other have indicated here. I've used 80 grn on two deer and never had a problem. One was about 150 yards and the other was about 80 yards. I am typically a black powder hunter so shot placement is paramount.
