Hell I invented using gloves to field dress deer.......
. Just kidding. Before I retired I worked as the Facilities Head of a research lab. I've used nitrile gloves (almost like latex) for over 20 years. I took a little grief at first from my buddies but it didn't take long before I was having to bring a whole box down every year so everyone could use them. They also work nice to store your bloody knife and bone saw in to keep from getting blood all over yourself. Looks like I have to bringsome extras for my new butt out tool.

I don't see the point. I have been carrying a pelvis saw. You just cut around the butt hole with your knife and then make two cuts though the pelvis with the saw, removing the center of it. This exposes the intestine all of the way to the butt hole. You can then just lay out the bowels intact including the butt hole. The knob on the end of the short saw blade keeps you from puncturing anything.
The saw is great for going through the sternum too.

I agree with you bob but the tool works pretty good so you don't have to cut around it. I liked using mine last year when it was dark as heck and I couldnt really see much. Just takes a few seconds and you're done. I am also investing in a pelvis cutter like you use.

i love this tool...just put in, twist, and pull out. extremely easy compared to having to hack open the pelvis to get the rectum out. make gutting sooo much easier. if you dont have one, get one, great tools!!!
