Kentucky Rut Report
Gents,
I'll be traveling to Kentucky fora 9 days of bowhunting Nov 1-9th. I'll be hunting just west of clinton, ky near the MS river. I was wondering what I could expect as far as rutting activity. Also, how does the acron crop look this year?
Thanks,
GaHunter19

RE: Kentucky Rut Report
Acorn are looking great up here. I have seen a ton of white and red oaks just loaded with them.
Rutting time is supposed to be heating up the days you will be here. I think they said the beginning of the seeking phase is gonna be around the 8th and 9th so things should be pretty good for hunting.
Good luck.

GaHunter,
I hunt that area also. I am closer to Columbus I think though. I have been there hunting 2 times already this year. There were plenty of acorns around. The first time was the weekend of the hurricane. It was way too hot and the woods I hunt were still surrounded by standing corn. I saw no deer and left the next morning, I just felt they were bedding in the corn. The next time, sept 29 thru oct 1st, I saw plenty of deer, no available shots. I saw 4 good bucks still bachelored up and 1 loner buck that was a shooter, just all way to far out. I too will be up that week, probably go up on the 6th and bow hunt and decide whether or not to use the rifle on Saturday, the 8th. Good luck.......
