There has been alot of discussion about this call. I use it because I have had success with it. I do think it works, you just got to use it at the right time. Same with rattling, grunting, and doe bleating. Hit it at the right time, and it will work.

I dont have one so I have never tried it. Of all the years that i have been hunting I have only heard it twice in the woods, but we have a high doe population where i hunt and there is not alot of fighting between the bucks.

We have a pretty high doe population too. We can take up to six does where I hunt in Ohio. The buck growl still works good though. Every year, I hear bucks grunting and chasing does. I heard a buck growl once, but I mainly hear them grunt and snort wheeze. The bucks normally fight good too. Last year, my dad and I were on our way to our stands in early Novmeber, and we heard the fight of all fights. In the dark these bucks were going at it hard. They were thrashing around and their antlers were clanging together hard. We both saw goods buck action that morning too. I do like the buck growl and will continue to use it along with my grunt call, rattling bag, and doe bleat.
