Longest shot

Well, if you are referring to harvesting a whitetail with a bow, my limit is 45yds. I practice to 60 yds consistantly and have harvested hogs at that range but I will never take a shot at a whitetail at that range ever!!!! A lot of variables go into every shot I take on game, animals behavior, wind, other animals around , etc...etc...etc... Even on a calm whitetail, I would never shoot past 45yds....These animals are way too fast to react to think you can take a 70yd shot ethically....I won't say thata personmight not get lucky and hit one at that rangebut thats not how I hunt....I will consider myself lucky if he comes within my effective range not if I can get an arrow 70yds to him before he moves....

40 yds. is the farthest I have taken a deer. That was a long time ago when I really didn't know what I was doing. Now I will not take a shot over 30 yds. Too many things to go wrong atlonger distances for me.
