I once had to let a doe walk past me because the arrow wouldn't have cleared the string. Gave a little grunt and she turned back to look. Shot her at 9 feet

Laying on ground the deer turned into my face and all I could see was blurred brown in the raised rings. I would say about ten feet. And didn't get it!

I didnt take this deer, my boss and i actually rescued it. I work on a farm in Va and we were doing some hay work and hearda fawn bawling that had gotten stuck on the river bank. We paddled a canoe over to where she was at and after about 30 min. of gameplanning we grabbed her around the skin on her neck and my boss held her in my arms as i paddled back across the river to safety haha. she eventually camled down and we could hold as if it were a cat, I actually have a good picture of me holding her if anyone would like to see.
