It all depends on where I am hunting, the herd density and what tags are avaialble. Its just too general to say I am one type.

I go with meat in the freezer. thats how weve always survived in my family. fill the freezer during hunting season with what you have tags for. here we get any sex tags and we can buy doe only tags as well so we fill the freezer with does until we see amature buck or season closes whichever happens first. does taste better IMO

In my area you just won't see a monster. Granted I did take one that scored around 120, but that is very rare.
I'm a meat hunter. I get 6 tags per year and 2 can be bucks. I usually take 5 does and wait on a big buck, but if a fat doe comes by, I'm probably going to take her.

I go for the big ones...all others get a pass.

I'd rather eat beef than venison so I'm not out there for just the meat. I do, however,really likedeer sausage and slim jims. I'll shoot a doe or two for management purposes, make some sausage and give the rest of the meat away.

Where I hunt .in the Green Swamp..just seeing one takes skill and an act of God.I'm being serious here. Therefore;. any deer taken would be considered a trophy. We can only shoot bucks here though during firearm and does or bucks in archery. We do have a long season though and we also have hogs.

So I chose ..Just get me some venison for the freezer. A trophy buck could cause me heart failure. Although , this monster was taken nearby a few years ago in Green Swamp west.

I pile up the does for the freezer and pass on bucks unless they are going to go on the wall. I killed 9 deer last year only 1 was a buck.

love the meat, wanna get the fattest doe, but i love them big boys too, dont get me wrong, i've been hunting maybe 11 yrs, since i was bout 7 bein 18 now, killed countless momma rabbit does, 2 small bucks when i was a lil younger...and only onenice 8 point, 139 3/8''...passed up countless young bucks...so i'm in it for the big boys and girls, and its the most relaxing time you can ever have, just sittin in the treestand even if you dont get one

I'm fairly new at this, and living in Miami, FL I don't get a chance to go hunting but one weekend a year. I also love thevenison and this is the only chance I get to harvest it; so if it crosses my path and it is of legal size it is mine.

At least this is how I feel at this stage. Hopefully,I will move further North in about in about three years and my situation will change.
