Stalking Deer
I have never had success stalking deer, but would like to learn to take deer by stalking from time to time. If you have a successful technique, please share. How do you go about it? What areas are best? What time of day is best? What part of the season?
Thanks.
Thanks.

RE: Stalking Deer
Don't know if this is stalking or still hunting but,
-early bow season, in september
-walking into the wind
-through thick pines (pine needles are quiet to walk on)
Basicly I just walked slowly through low, thick pines and every few steps I would drop down and watch around me. And then I would hear a deer walking before I would see it, and be able to get ready for the shot. Then, when I saw it, I would decide if that was the right deer.
I've seen many does this way, most never knew I was there even though they were very close.
The best place and time for this is after it rains, and in a field of standing corn. Just look or a flicker of a tail, an eye, or ear. Anything that would give away a bedded deer, then walk up and get him.
I've never done that but I watched Guy and Dan Fitzgerald make it look real easy on TV . They have a video on it I think.
