Poor Taste!!!!!! Gives hunters a bad rap!!!

You guys misread the article with this. The owner of the animal or whatever ASKED for someone to kill it. Everyone said they didnt want to because it was such a nice and loveable deer. Then some moron comes and kills it. Kinda sad, if its a pet why would the guy ask people to kill it. The poor animal had been mislead to believe the humans were his friend just to be shot and killed by one. This is why PETA says the things they do. Even as a diehard hunter this story is sickening. Noone in their right mind could shoot that deer, I dont care how bad you have to eat. Poor thing had no clue, up until that clown fired 5 shots at it (and missed) it had no reason to fear humans. Well look where that got him.

Fingerz42, sorry but you are wrong, you had started reading on the page that I had my post on, which is the 3rd page. At the top of the page 3,the guy was discussing an incident that had happened to him.

Whether they were trying to "stir it up" or not, I too feel that it was wrong. I mean in the sense that they took the photo and posted it on the internet. I'd like to go put a collar on that guy and throw him out in the wild!!

You are right.. i was wrong..
Well nonetheless pry some guy though it would be funny to put that on the deer and take a picture.. OR he may have used the collar to drag the deer.. who knows.

i dont remember reading any laws about not being able to shoot acollared deer therefore its deer season and thats a deer, he had all rights to shoot it.
i like thedog threads, many huntersbelieve its ok to shoot them, thenblame the dogsdeath on the owner because its running free.
at least he probably ate the deer.probably best for the woods to take him out.btw icouldn't of shot it.

If it was someone's pet and they had the forethought to put a collar on the deer I dont think I would shoot, even if legal. It's pretty obvious that it "belonged" to someone. That's an issue of ethics. Now, if the collar was added in jest for a photo, it's still poor taste and makes hunters look bad. Also an ethics sort of thing I suppose.

Something doesn't jive with the story. First the caption below the pic says it's a shotgun kill, the tag is an Illinois shotgun tag, yet as the story goes they guy shot 5 arrows at the deer had to climb down pick up an arrow and shoot him with it.
Did miss something here?
Edit: Nevermind, I re-read it and thestory I readhad nothing to do with the deer in the picture. This is what happens when you don't start reading on thefirst page of the thread.......carry on
I'm an idiot.
