Deer Recipe?
O.K. Decided to slow cook my hind quarters in Jack Daniels BBQ sauce. The only thing left is what to marinate it in? Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

RE: Deer Recipe?
Haus,
Bottle of red wine (merlot is my preference)
Garlic
Montreal Steak Spice
Seasoning or sea salt
Brown Sugar
dash of keens dry mustard
or
Beer
Worchester (colour the mixture to a soft brown)
Brown Sugar
Montreal Steak Spice
Seasoning or Sea Salt
I stick it in the fridge for 12-24 hours covered. If the roast isn't completely covered I will rotate it at the half way point or if able every 4 hours or so.
These aid in draw blood out, tenderizing the meat and some flavour(however they won't remove the deer taste completely).

Those both sound like great marinades skeeter! Haus , if your gonna cook it with the barbecue sauce theres no need to marinade it , the bbq sauce and marinade will battle each other and you'll end up with a roast that tastes like chit! I'd do one or the other(actually I'd do the marinade! Better flavor and you can still enjoy the flavor of venison).
