Color blind people going hunting?!?!?!?!
#41
There is no orange in the pic.
My point is if this is what is 100 yards BEHIND the deer.Would a colorblind person see them? (Would YOU see them)Even if they had orange on,that would be what they would see.Or should I say,not see?
I have seen or read NO WHERE that the person said he thought the person was a deer.He said he could not see the orange.IT IS POSSIBLE he missed a deer and hit someone behind the deer because he could not see the orange of a person that was at a distance and completely concealed in camo.
Him being colorblind would make it very hard to see them hiding in the brush,or even in a stand.
If he shot the person,on purpose, thinking he was a deer, then he is an idiot.PERIOD.But we do not know this to be the case.Just reserve JUDGEMENT untill the facts are in.
I still believe a colorblind person has every right to hunt, but special precautions by them and there hunting partners need to be taken.
Trust me when I say this can happen.I posted the story on this thread where I was in this situation and the shot would have killed a person if I couldn't have seen the orange AND the deer was missed. They were 10 yards off the property line and we had no idea they were there.I was on the ground with a 13 year old kid and the shot was slightly up through the woods, toward the property line.If I was colorblind and couldn't see the orange,I might have let him shoot and God forbid what would have happened if he would have missed.
