Colorblind or not, how can someone mistake a two legged human for a four legged whitetail?

ORIGINAL: il coyote Colorblind or not, how can someone mistake a two legged human for a four legged whitetail? Colorblindness is not an excuse for mistaking a man for a deer. If the color blindness caused this level of confusion, which it does not, why didn't that same guy shoot trees? Colorblindness has no effect on ability to discriminate man from animal, additionally even in a completely colorblind person, they still see shades (think of a black and white TV) and the brown of a deer would be a much darker shade than the orange of a hunter. I think this is either an urban legend or a pathetic attempt at making an excuse for horrible judgement. |

I have a buddy that color blind that hunts, and he can tell by the shades wether or not your wearing hunter orange and how bright the orange is or if it has faded..... SOunds like a lame excuse to me...

RE: Color blind people going hunting?!?!?!?!
I'm red/green colorblind and hunter orange can be challanging for me to see. Color blindness is not an excuse, asone of the hunting credos is to positively identify what you are shooting at.

Hard to believe that can happen,Im color blind but two legs are a lot
different then four legs! |
RE: Color blind people going hunting?!?!?!?!
I have a good buddy who is color blind. He has trouble in heavy timber, but seems to pick up deer and antelope better in open country than I can. For this reason, he prefers open country. He is able to tell whether you have hunter orange on or not by shade, as was mentioned earlier.
