Do I have any chance at all to harvest a deer when the wind is 15-30 mph

RE: Do I have any chance at all to harvest a deer when the wind is 15-30 mph
I was always very discouraged by the wind, until this year. I found myself with only certain days that I could hunt, so I had to hunt whenever time permitted, windy or not. I have grown to prefer a steady wind actually. At 15-30 mph, they will move, perhaps not as freely as on a calm day, but they still have to eat on windy days, so they will be around. Some of the best days I had this year was when the wind was blowing in the teens, especially since I was able to be very certain of the direction and plan accordingly. On those days when there is a very light wind, I was always more nervous of swirling, whereas when the wind is blowing pretty constant, it seemed to eliminate the very fast changes.

This buck was taken in 30 mph wind out on the field and at 2:30 pm. It was peAK RUT and there was a hot doe. I hunt no matter what the weather. My best time is when its snowing

just remember they still have to eat and if the rut is on their still going to be looking...... just think if your girl was ready would you let a little wind keep you from RUTTING?

Where I hunt, a strong wind can be a good thing. There are certain place that are sheltered from the wind and if you hit a few of them, you have a good chance of finding mutable deer there.

USUALLY there's far less deer movement during windy days, but you never know - esp during the rut.
Last year, I was hunting during the rut in a spot where I normally was seeing good early morning and late afternoon movement. However, there was high winds that day (around 30mph) and I hadn't seen a thing, so I decided to cut my losses by getting down before I got blown out of the tree. Just after I lowered all my gear with my haul line, a beautiful, BIG 8 point walked into easy range and waltezed all around my open shooting lanes WHILE MY BOW WAS ON THE GROUND![:@]
I'd give anything to have that morning rewound!
