Finally made up my mind. Purchased a .270WSM Browning A-Bold Classic Hunter this afternoon. I'm pretty jazzed about it, even if I have to wait two weeks to get it (I live in California). This one just "felt" right. It's going to be a long year, waiting and prepping for my first hunt, but I've taken the first step.

Excellent choice, I would love to have one of those 270WSM, I hope to have one someday.

I think I saw something on the 270WSM in American Hunter. If it's the same one I read about, it got a good review. Congratulations on your new gun. 2 week waiting period??? That's ridiculous.

A .270WSM Browning A-Bold Classic Hunter? OK, now I am jealous; but, proud for you.
Pay heed to what “Strut, had to say. Without the NRA, we would no longer have guns, golf clubs, baseball bats, knives, or anything else to defend our families with. We would loose the right to hunt, fish, trap, pan gold, etc.
For Christmas presents we give annual NRA, AND GPAA memberships to our friends and relatives. These gifts are enjoyed the entire year and the cost is low compared to other gifts.
The next purchase should be the NRA (Life) Membership. Think about the GPAA / LDMA membership you may enjoy gold / gem prospecting in great outdoors.

GoTres - I don't let the waiting period get to me. Living in California requires certain compromises. Too many people in too small an area and you end up with well meaning but ineffective rules. Don't want to go too far off topic, so I'll leave my rant at that.
