Just a curious ethicsquestion: you're sitting a stand during extended/doe season, 14 or better buck walks out within 50 yrds, what do you do???? BE HONEST!!!!!!!!!

Let him walk, it is not worth taking a chance on getting caught. Personally, I wouldn't feel right. MHO. BTW, I filled my 2 buck tags in 2000 and had to watch a bigger buck walk by at 10 yrds. a week later. Then I missed him this season as a big 10 pt. Oh well, I had my chance.

A friend of mine shot a wallhanger 8 pt. in handgun season(antlerless only) a couple of yrs. ago. He finally confessed it to me 3 weeks later in Feb. because he didn't feel right about it, of course I didn't help him feel right about it either!

I'd pass it up and follow the law. I know a lot of people who have shot bucks during the doe season, some by accident and others by greed. It's just better to follow the law and get him next year.

Take a picture, get him on video, or stand up and introduce myself to him, but I'm not shooting. I know that we get in some "holier-than-thou" type discussions on subjects like these, but if anyone doesn't think that's an honest answer, shoot him yourself. I'll report you before the buck hits the ground.

I am sure it has happened to most of us. I have made honest mistakes hunting and I am simpathetic to others which so the same. If your family is starving and you shoot a deer to feed them I would probably turn my head, but if I see that deers head on your wall you will be hearing it from me. I am not inclined to turn people in most of the time but in this case the violation is so blatant I think I would.
