Personally I see more deer in the late afternoon but I think your chances for a trophy are alot better the first hour after daylight.

Depends on stand placement. Deer move to different areas through-out the day. I personally don't enjoy getting up at 4:30 AM and hunt more in the afternoon and evening. During the rut I stay out all day if I can. Some of the biggest bucks I have seen were out in the middle of the day.

It depends on when the deer are going to come through your area. during the rut hunting can be good all day. You'll have to go out at different times to see when the most activity takes place. I know some people that only hunt between 1000 -n- 1500hrs. This has worked good for them, but if they tried that where I hunt they wouldn't see a thing. Most of my good hunting takes place closer to the evening except during rut.

I like late afternoon best as well. See more deer, especially 10 or so minutes before it is totally dark. However, I have read lots of articles that state most B&C class bucks are taken between 10am and 2pm - when most hunters are napping at camp.
