Default Rattling during peak rut

This sat is the opeing day of rifle season i know for sure the rut is underway, I am planning on staying in the woods all day and was wondering if a little rattling here and there along with some grunt calls would be very effective, Im from KY and have never had much success with either but have never done it during this phase of the rut either, any oppinions would be nice, thanks guys,

Once you get to the woods you going to hunt tie a dray rag to your boot, then put some doe-in heat on it so you'll leave a scent as you walk to your stand, then put in on a small tree about 20 yards away that should help you.but remember to watc the down wind side because if a buck catches the scent he'll be coming from that direcion. good luck to write back to let me know if it help you are not

I had actually planned on dragging a rag behind me as i seemed to have success last year on opening day although i dont think it was because of that, i just want to lean more on rattling and grunting, thanks,
