Yes, I'm interested in how far that target was. And I assume that each square is one inch on that target?
SST were one that I didn't try the other day (you can look up my post called "all you guys asking about slugs....")

I just don't know what kind of accuracy to get out of my 870 without a scope. 100 yards seems like i'm pushin it and 50 yards sounds about right using just the sites and no scope. Any help would be appreciated.

I am shooting an 1100 w/ a Leupold 3x9x40 scope mounted w/ see through mounts. I have a fully rifled barrell on it. I have had tremendous luck shooting Winchester Partition Gold Sabots... but like said above... very expensive to practice with. I will usea box to sight in and that will be it until they are used on a deer. Great combo... Can group very tight @ 100 yards.

RE: Slug Gun Resluts
Troutman, if you can get groups like the picture above you're doing alright. I got lucky and found that my 870/hastings can shoot 3 slugs with the holes just barely touching each other at 50yards. That was with the Federal sabots both the vital-shok deal and the new EXpanders. Every gun will be different...and yeah, its certainly does get expensive. I decided to look at it like this: "Spent $50 bucks to find out exactly what my gun can do...or don't and have a several hundred dollar rig that may be shooting groups twice too big." I'm glad I spent the $50...my groups with the Federals are less than half the size of my groups before.
