Slug accuracy results
A short time ago I posted a question regarding a fully rifled slug barrel veresus a rifled choke tube. I had many responses and decided to purchase a new barrel. I found a used Hasting's cantilever barrel for $100 and boufht it. I assembled the gun a Remington 870 Super Mag camo and mounted a Nikon Monarch UCC 3-9X40 scope. I went to the local shop and bought the only sabot slugs they carried. They were the Winchester 2-3/4" BRI slugs. Once I fired at 25 to get on paper I moved the target to 50 and fired a 3 shot group. At 50 my group for 3 shots was 1-1/4". I was pleased to say the least. I moved my zero to 2.25" high at 50 and then moved the target to 100. I fired another 3 shot group and center to center my group was 2-9/16" and the group was about 3/8" under the bullseye so I definitely think I have my deer load for this gun out to 125 yards. So once again I would like to thank everyone kind enough to give me some advice to get me started. By the time I got to 125 yards I only had two slugs left and when I fired they were a little under 3" low at 125 and about 2-7/8" apart. So I believe I can take a deer at 125 yards with this setup. Once again thanks for all of the help!!!
