I'm with Tazman on the cor-loks. On the the other hand I have heard many people say they like them and others that they really did'nt care for them.

im shooting the hornady SST this year in 130gr .270 Win. its a ballistic tip with the interlock bullet technology in it.if it fails(horandy bullets are pretty reliable) im switching back to the interlock that works wonders.
I had an interlock break several ribs and exit out the hind quarter(angled shot at running deer while lying prone) and then came out just under the hide.reliable performance.only bullet i found. the rest were pass throughs.

I've used Winchester Fail-Safes (then called 'Black Talon') and Ballistic Silvertips, on deer. The exit wounds were drastically different--the BT/FS was maybe 3/4ths of an inch wide, and one of the BTs had an exit wound that was 1 1/2" wide x 4" long . . . the other didn't exit, as it shattered the spinal column and broke apart.
None of the deer went more than 40 yards. One of the BT-hit deer dropped in its tracks.

i have used some different guns in my 7 years of hunting and i never used balistic tip bullets. i have used Federal classic 200GR with a led tip for my old 35 remington and my pops 300 i used remingtons with the led tip as well. Now me and my dad have 270's we just got last year he uses remington express core lokt and im sticken with my federal classic both 150 gr. they have worked great. last year my dad shot right through one deer and hit another one dropig them both thats luck but just shows how the bullet works. those ballistic tips just blow up and iv seen them ruin alot of meet on my uncles deer. So i rather stick with the old led soft points. The remingtons and federals shoot the same out of both of our guns to, we can hit the same spot we hit with the remington ammo with the federal ammo. Well happy hunten and good luck.

I shoot 140 winchester supreme silvertp ballistic tips in my 7mm mag and not only have they killed deer but none have ever taken a step! Bullet placement is the key no matter what you shoot but to say a ballistic tip doesn't work is just plain crazy!

I have never been a B/T fan but i do know my son shot a buck saturday morning with a 70 gr B/T in a 243 and buddy it did the job very well! i started loading them last year for the gun and have been impressed this is the third deer with them .
i am shooting 100 gr B/T in my 25-06 but havent taken a deer with it yet . this weekend i may try it out.
