Wthunter i don't go to east arkansas to many skeeters!

Skeeter whitetails do some stupid things in the rut. but when the buck to doe ratio is out of whack they don't roam as much. we have so many does the bucks don't have to go far to get a date. we have so many does i watched two spikes breed a doe taking turns in a pasture. no mature bucks anywhere around. i am going to put some of those little does in my freezer soon. they taste better i think!
Someone said once to me " a plate full of venison is better than a wall full of antlers" and i have to admit it fills my belly better.

I hate it when your typing something to go on here and post it and find something else that needs responding to.
skeeter you know how to throw cyber blows.
man i am jealous! i would love to be in kumbaya camp. funds you know?
HUmm scents ? i have used some in the past but never really could see spending money for urine.
i did once have an experience where i was leaving my stand . i wa about 19 i guess ( many years ago) i took a wizz and continued on. i heard something like steps. i turned and caught a nice 6 point with his nose in the ground where i had urinated. where he came from i don't know ,scared the crap out of me. i shot him when he had his nose fleming checking out if i was in heat. i guess based on that mine would do just as good.

Soarkrebel, I agree them young does are yummmy. It is apparent you need to do some harvesting to bring things in check.

While I agree you can't eat antlers, I also don't recall the last time I went to somebodies house and said "Hey Nice Roast Mount, where you get him".

Sorry to make you jealous, but I bet your still hunting while our season is done...tables will turn and always do. If they open Camp Kumbaya to you boys, I'll be sure to invite you. Right now it is residents only...just shy of the outfitting fringe....BUT they just announced they are planning to extend the forest fringe further south, which would include my cabin. Stay tuned, you may just see..."Come hunt Camp Kumbaya - Home of the Monsta's and sing song around the fire every night!" things to bring are: your gun, calls, warm clothes, coloured outwear (orange, red or white) and don't forget your guitar and song sheets!! Sure to be a hand holding experience to share with your family and get in touch with the inner MAN. Yeah right, "bring some scotch and the other essential we'll have a barrel of fun" is more like it.

I was walking to my tree stand last weekend and jumped a doe, it "screeched" like hell.
