OK, I was on a different message board and I ran into this.
moon phases and whitetail hunting

I AM TRYING TO FIND A MOON PHASE CHART THAT TELLS WHEN IT IS THE BEST TIMES TO HUNT ACCORDING TO THE MOON. ANY HELP WOULD BE APPRECIATED.

You don't actually believe that! That's a crock of ****.

As a matter of fact, I do believe there is something to the moon signs. Being actively engaged in agriculture, raising and working livestock for the better part of my life, I know for a fact that the sign makes a huge difference when weaning, castrating and dehorning calves.
There is something to the theory of magnetic and gravitational pulls of the moon and how it affects things on this planet.
For you to state That's a crock of **** only proves how either shallow or uneducated you are.
Secondly, how would you know if you've never tested the theory in any area listed?

It says: THE BEST DAYS TO GO HUNTING ARE: and it lists the days. No one on Earth could predict that. It's not only the moon that alters the deers daily patterns. A cold snap, High winds, low pressure systems all affect it. You cannot base you hunting around the moon that is just foolish.

Well, you can hunt how you like, I wouldn't bank on the moon for anything when it comes to hunting. I go out everyday hoping today will be the day. True, the moond oes affect the deer, but there is no way to predict the day that nuck is gonna step infront of your stand. I wonder if they've ever done a study which prooved thse days that they predcit to be true. By getting the days deer were harvested and see how they stack up against the predictions. Evrybody has an opinon and that was mine. Take or stomp it flat and spit on it. I just don't believe they can predict the best days...

NOW that is what was said exactly. Now what are your opinons on the topic?
Can you tell the "best days" by the moon?

RE: Moon and Deer...
I sort of think their best days hunting list is a bunch of hooey (nice way of saying crap). I think immediate weather conditions and local rut times have a greater affect on deer movement. They list about 8 or 9 days of the month, skipped around throughout the month, be hard to prove either way to me.

RE: Moon and Deer...
Check out my posts on Moon or "what triggers the rut over on the bowhunting board. There is no scientific evidence that overhead/underfoot noon position influence deer activity, or that predicted times work. There is scientific evidence tht they don't work. Forget specific moon times.
