I went out muzzleloader hunting on saturday after missing a doe on friday with the bow. long story short, I had a 4ptr come in, and I passed. three does come in about 15 mins later and I put the crosshairs on the biggest one at 40 yds and shoot. they run behind me at 20 yds (now the four ptr comes back and starts dogging them) and I get yet another shot at 30 yds. I missed 2x! the gun was on when I shot it at the range. cva optima with 100 grains pyrodex and a 295 grain powerbelt hollowpoint. I know the gun has a heavy trigger, but this was ridiculous. I do have a simmons 4x32 on it, an inexpensive scope. I wonder if I flinched or the scope got knocked off. gave it up for the bow. I'd rather not see deer in range with the bow then miss with the smokepole.

Did you take it to the range after you shot? Maybe you bumped it in the woods or something. Buck fever maybe?
