Mike,
Maybe you need to take your wife on a mini vacation before every hunting season!! Little things mean alot to our wifes. That would definately make her feel appreciated. Sometimesmarriages need that extra touch of love. Do you have any kids? Family pet? I been blessed to have a wife that has absolutely no issues w/my hunting. She actually helps me cut and wrap the meat. Way cool time together. Would your wife do that for you? Maybe you should ask. I'm sure you can find a resolution to the issue at hand. Good luck!!

Mike,
If you get to go to deer camp for a week each year, in addition to hunts closer to home, maybe you could offer to send her on a trip for a week to do her thing. She might be feeling short changed if you get to go away for a week to "play" while she has all the responsibilities at home.
Good luck.

Wow, I think I know where he is coming from. I have a sis-in-law, who is the sis-in-law from hell !!! My brother wanted to take his 12 year old son deer hunting this year, they went to hunting safety classes and all got thier certificates. My know it all sis-in-law, just wants no part of her son going hunting this year. I'm surprised that my brother is going this year the way she is talking !!!! Man, why did he marry her ???? He won't stand up to her at all !! Like someone else said, go to her purse........
My wife on the other hand is very understanding. Her birthday is Nov. 19th. I am home for her b-day once every 7 years !!!! This year the 19th is opening day of gun season !!! She knew about my hunting when we got married. I've only missed one year in the last 27, but that was due to a cash problem !!!

Hey Guys,
I am so worn down by my wife and her attitude about me getting in the woods, it does not even sound worth it anymore. I just can't understand the problem. I do more than most husbands and bring home great money. She doesn't even have to work. She HATES when I go hunting. It's like I'm choosing hunting or her every time I mention it. I am beat down and ready to concede she wins. I give up. Anyone else feel this way?

Send her on a cruise while you are at camp. Tickets are cheap enough and there are plenty of places that she might like to see. The Titanic comes to mind. I hear they are still running that trip to the North Atlantic. Edmund Fitsgerald also sails out of the Great Lakes.

Alright Guys,
I did as most of the board recommended and just told her, again, how important this is to me and that she was going to have to get over it. I did it a little nicer than most of the posts asked for, but she got the point just the same. It turns out she was angry about a totally different thing with her Mother and took it out on me all week. Thanks for all of the advice. Kybuckhunter, sorry for the angry reply. It's easy to lash out when we are in tough situations. Sounds like we are live pretty similar lives. I also have 2 kids. I got up this morning and my wife was folding all of my hunting clothes the SHE had just washed in no scent detergent. I will be in the woods this evening and tomorrow morning.
