RE: Would you hunt from this?

I wouldn't because I wouldn't seem like I was in the woods with the deer. maybe it's a stupid reason but it just wouldn't feel right. you every thik about this, would it be considered hunting with the aide of a car

It wouldn't be practical where I hunt, but if I wouldn't have a problem hunting from one if the terrain dictated that type of setup. Most hunters on this board do things to increase their advantage. I don't see this setup being any more of an advantage than hunting a treestand along the edge of a field in IA, IL, or MO.

fillae,

Very good point. When you think about it,(I 've done it)setting up a stand next to corn, bean, clover field where you know deer move in/out of field is by comparison the same as this high tech mobile lift used on huge flat land ranches in states like Texas.

I am so fed up with another gadget approach to hunting. If it keeps going in the direction that it has, we will be 'hunting' from our livung rooms before long. Give me a wilderness area that I actually do have to get out and hunt any time. It is called hunting, not waiting for a deer to come to a food plot while sitting in a condo with a heater, refrigerator, carpet floors, video games, and shooting a buck that has been artificially induced to 'grow' a bigger rack so you can brag about how good of a 'hunter' you are because he will score high. Spare me!

Get arrested in NY for hunting out of that.

I love it how some peoplehave to state how some practice (baiting, hunting from vehicles, etc.)is illeagal in their state so it has to be bad.

When considering my experiences from my neck of the woods I would be against it as well.

I think it'd be great for running the sidelines at the local high school Friday night football games. Man, what a camera platform. Hunting????? I don't think so. It just doesn't seem like hunting to me. Heck, it isn't hunting. It's what we use to call ROAD HUNTING in NY. Highly illegal and frowned on. IN FACT, in NY you would get arrested if you were 50 miles off the road in that with a loaded weapon. Guns and bullets and vehicles are not a hunting rig. You drive up and what do you know about who's in the woods. Do you know if there are any other hunters or jaywalkers around. Having been on the recieving end of 3 round of 243 from a road hunter when some does got in between me and the road I can tell you. The truck driver never knew I was there until I unloaded and said a few choice words. He didn't evenstick around to see if he hit anything.

Just because its illegal or "frowned upon" in some states dosent mean thats the case everywhere. Down here hunting on public land like that mentioned above, is frowned upon. But its really no big deal. Keep doing what your doing, and we will keep doing what we are doing..................
