AK NIMROD

i did not connect but my hunting partner (Sully) arrowed a 52" we had permits on kenai peninsula here in AK. limited access , horseback drop off hunt...9 hr ride in..ouch we had terrible weather, saw 3-4 bulls , one wolf. another friend went where i told him on the haul rd up north and arrowed a 55" p & y bull in the drawing area south of coldfoot.

i got one. it wasn't out west, though. i was drawn for a cow tag here in vt. got her on the third day of the hunt, with twelve minutes left of shooting time with my dad by my side. she weighed in at 682, dressed. can anyone tell me what she might have weighed live weight? and as far as cows go, would you think of her as nice, small, somewhere in between? of course we do have smaller moose than the ones you guys shoot, different subspecies here.

Nice moose!! I have never gone moose hunting but on a family vacation, we stopped at a crowd of people on the side of the road and wanted to see what was going on. It was a huge bull moose and it was across a little swamp bottom and people were taking pictures of it. It stayed around for a while and then just walked off into the woods.
