Alaska Moose - looking for info
I am planning a guided moose hunt to Alaska Unit 20D Sept. 5th-15th. I am looking for information from anyone familiar with this area. Moose numbers, trophy quality, Grizzly, and Wolf populations, as well as any other info anyone would like to share. This will be my first trip to Alaska, and any info would be greatly appreciated.
I posted this in the Big Game Forum also. Are there any Alaskans here that can provide any info? Any suggestions about moose hunting or hunting in AK in general would also be appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

I am unfamiliar with moose hunting up there, and haven't hunted in unit 20D....however I know where to point you to people who have!
I would recommend going to the alaska forums at http://forums.outdoorsdirectory.com/or the Alaska forum at http://forums.accuratereloading.com/eve they just have more specialized traffic for you.

Don't know much about that area, other than, it's up by Fairbanks. From what I've read over the years, it should have a pretty good moose population. I usually hunt unit's 8,13,14, and 16(mainly central and south Alaska). I agree with Judyboi, visit outdoorsdirectory and post the question. That website is quite helpful.

I have Friends that live near Glenallen unti 13 D i think ,,and that area is CLOSED to NON -Residents due to low moose population ,, they blame this on HIGH grizzly and wolve population ,they are VERY hard on moose calves .it has been closed several years
