Good luck all! I'm heading out this afternoon to try to locate some birds. I've made 4 trips this month, and I've yet to have a bird respond to my crow call or owl hoots. Maybe today will be different.

Wayne, I've tried the peacock, pileated woodpecker, coyote, crow, owl, and whistled like a hawk. They aren't talking. I thought about using my elk diaphragm, but haven't tried it yet. And I may get a pocket air horn before I head your way in May. I didn't get out this afternoon(kids didn't want to go), but I've got permission from the misses to go out tomorrow afternoon BY MYSELF!!!!! Sorry, but they've been with me the last 3 out of 4 trips I've made. 5, 3, and 17 months are a little too young to start the hunting tradition with. Plus it confines me to the roads. By the way Wayne, did you get my e-mail? I got word back that the 1st one didn't go through. Good luck everybody. Bust a big 'un!

Robb, sounds like you need to keep a slingshot by the back door. Hope the weather is doing better today for you. It has been REALLY windy over here on the west side with lots of off and on rain. I got soaked yesterday riding my bike looking over a new area for turkeys. I've got to retreat my ECWCS suit. The water just soaked into the fabric. When you're riding a bike, that means you get pretty sweatty. What do you guys use to recondition your Gore-Tex suits? Is it something the wife can pick up on post? I e-mailed Adventuretech out of Spokane that has the contract to make the ECWCS suits for Uncle Sam. I'm waiting to see what they say to use. I'm thinking of using Nikwax TX-Direct Wash-in treatment that recoats breathable rainsuits. It is recommended for Gore-Tex. Have a good one. Good luck to everybody on the gobbler opener tomorrow.

WE JUST GO AND GET ANOTHER GORTEX JAKCET, I AGREE THEY DON'T WORK 100 % FOR KEEPING OUT THE RAIN. WHEN WE CLEAN OURS WE WASH THEM BY THEMSELSVES WITH A CAN OF COKE, CLEANS ALMOST ALL THE STAINES OUT OF THE JACKET AND PANTS.

Hey Robb, I heard back from Adventuretech about my suit. They pretty much said the same thing. I told him I was given the suit by a friend who is retired Army. He said that's what happens to the ones that need retreating or are really worn, they become garbage or gifts. I'm gonna try to retreat it and see how it works. I've heard the coke trick, but that can't be good for 'em. Do you use it straight or dilute it with water? I'm just glad it turns some water, so I'll try to revive the water repellency. Can't beat the price, and I usually don't bowhunt in heavy rain. Makes bloodtrailing kinda tough. Have a good one.

Here's a post I put up on the Turkey Hunting forum yesterday... Like everyone else....they were tight lipped here also...........untill 11:00a.m.......then all hell broke loose...Had about 4 of em triple gooblin about 100 yd's from us for 2 hour's....trouble was....they had lot's of hen's with em....I got the boss hen all rilled up.....but she just would'nt come all the way in.....could'nt rush em to split em up cus they were in the wood's were ya could'nt really see good enough to see which way the hen's would go..and which way the tom's would go....about 1:30p.m. they left the area....so we moved to a new spot to work some other bird's....got caught in about the same situation as the morning hunt....tom's gobblin hung up with hen's......we did see around 60-70 deer....and 6 yote's......it even snowed on us this morning....and that dang boss hen just would'nt shut up.. ....Gonna hit it hard again in the morning...
