Wayne, I've tried the peacock, pileated woodpecker, coyote, crow, owl, and whistled like a hawk. They aren't talking. I thought about using my elk diaphragm, but haven't tried it yet. And I may get a pocket air horn before I head your way in May. I didn't get out this afternoon(kids didn't want to go), but I've got permission from the misses to go out tomorrow afternoon BY MYSELF!!!!! Sorry, but they've been with me the last 3 out of 4 trips I've made. 5, 3, and 17 months are a little too young to start the hunting tradition with. Plus it confines me to the roads.
