Hi everyone! Wayne...sorry I didn' t make it over....went over to Stevens county for fall turkey permit and finally got my first bird! But we only stayed overnight and went home after hunting. It was pretty small but nice to finally taste success! Met some really nice property owners too. You can read my whole story on turkeyhunting.com board (title: " got my first...fall permit" )
I' d also like to welcome all the newcomers to the board. Thanks for joining us here on the Washington thread. Best hunting to all of you!

Thanks for the info Wayne, the muzzel loaders, are they hunting Deer? What kind of terrain is it at the end of your drive? Maybe by using a distress call you could bring him out?
If I am able to shoot a Deer this weekend I would like to try and come over there for Bear.

ChasinTom ...Yup...they were hunting deer..the terrain at the bottom of my drive is a field....and apple tree' s...But that' s a rare spot here...most of my propery is hilly....Let me know when your headed over... A distress call may work...I' ve never tried it bear hunting....Good luck this week-end

still seeing lot' s of deer.....cept the nice buck' s I was seeing earlyer have gone underground for awhile. The wood' s are getting packed with hunter' s already....all week...all I' ve seen is camper' s and 4-wheeler' s coming through town. When I used to hunt with moderen firearm...I never got excited about deer till the late season. I know some hunter' s will take some buck' s these first couple of week' s.....but most of the nice wall hanger' s are taken later

Hi all, another new guy to the forum. I' m fairly new to hunting (this will be my 3rd year), and was wondering if any of you are familiar with the Rimrock GMU.
I was drawn for an antlerless elk permit for Rimrock and would really like to fill my tag. Got about 4 of us from work going. Anyone know this area?

Awwww, thanks Wayne. Careful or it might get as deep as that bear scat in your driveway. Welcome aboard everybody. Boy, this is getting to be a popular place. It' s kinda like Cheers, and Wayne' s like Coach.
Boy I tell ya, after this past weekend chasin' elk in the Taneum with a smoke pole, you may not want to hear anything I' ve got to say since I had to eat my COW TAG. And certainly not if you' re under age. When I make my weapon selection next time, I' ll damn sure check the moon phase. We didn' t see anything except chipmunks during the daytime. Had 7 different bulls bugling around camp at night, but couldn' t get on anything after legal shooting time. I had to head back Monday afternoon for some home projects, and wouldn' t you know Ma Nature decided she' d have a laugh at my expense. Tuesday the temps dropped and rain moved in. Snow level yesterday was 4,000 feet, and my best spot is at 4,700. Dammit![:@] Late season muzzleloader spots suck for east side tags, so I guess I' m done for the year.
