Welcome, bldhound. I, too, am forced to live in Bellevue and I also go through tires pretty quickly, leaving most of the rubber on I-90 between here and the Columbia River. Got in 40+ days of bird hunting this past year, and had great luck.

We also have a little lot over in the Ennis, MT area, on the Madison River, and I get over there a couple times a year and do a little fishing. Either way, I-90 is the road of choice for me to get my butt outta here!

Thanks for the welcome BlackLab & seattlesetters!
Now for the meat & potatoes. The birds are still in the woods, I hope that the 4 birds from yesterday die from throat cancer! Got them to 50yds but they wouldn' t come out of the woods into the setup. I slung eveything at them, soft , slow, hard, fast & even had hens get in a calling contest with me(matched her note for note & a lil extra)! Even tried going silent for a bit to move around then draw them back in but they wouldn' t come out. I don' t know how much hotter I can get birds, it was baseball, they were belting single, double, & triple gobbles.

PS trapper T, haven' t used the power crystal but I know that they love the wood witch.

This one is for the " coasties" . I have a friend of mine who has some private property in Mossy Rock, me & my partner are looking at hunting this area before work during the week. Any advice would be helpful. It' s bad when you can' t get enough on the WE' s & have to go during the week as well.
I know info comes at a price so, I would be willing to help out someone on eastside info on a honey hole or two that I hunt.

I have heard of Tukreys being seen in Salkum, which is a grease spot just WEST OF Mayfield Lake. 18 were spotted trashing some guys garden so they' re around, other than that I don' t know much more about it and I don' t think to many people know abut it either.

Bldhound, you helped me on the Borax issue. Do you have a shop and where about is it if you do, because I' m looking at getting a rug made out of a Bobcat I took a couple years ago and he' s still in the freezer(whole) minus a head. He should keep in there for a while?

Tapper T,
No I don' t have a shop anymore....forced to have a real job. I went to school for it & let my employer pay for it so I would save alot of $$ on taxidermy & do my own. Glad I could help you out there. How are your wings & fan mount coming along? There is a guy in North Bend that did my P&Y bear I can hook you up with, he does awesome work, his name is Bill Lancaster & if you can' t find his # I have it at home.
Thanks for the info on the area, I' ll check it out. This is the situation, me & my partner work in Everett & want to hunt during the week, we have to be at work at 2:30 in the afternoon. It' ll be drive down after work sleep in the truck, hunt, come back shower & head to work!

Hey trapper T, since you have your Eastern you might as well go for the Merriam! I do have a couple of honey holes for them if you want to run over there, just in case your areas get to populated. Last WE there was only 2 other hunters in there all 3 days & they were with me.

Tiggeer, man nice to hear you laid off on the jake, I know it was tough but kudos to you. I' m going to be just S of Chewelah one day & the other I' ll be up just outside of Colville, if you can get a ride there I' d be more than glad to show you. I used to be in the same boat that you' re in when I was your age. I look back on it now & if kids were to walk down the road with a Rem 1100 over their shoulder like I did the cops would be all over them these days. Then when I did start driving there were many a days I would be wearing my camo in class b/c I had stayed in the woods hunting till the last minute before school & was gone again when the bell rang...........did alot of homework after hunting.
