Scouting is hard but if you give yourself a few days before the hunt, you should be able to get the needed information. Local people, current hunters and DFG/DOW/DNR officers should getenough to get started.

Look, you ought to be able to find someone in either Idaho, Colorado, Washington ,or Oregon on one of three sights on the web. This one, archerytalk.com, or bowsite.com. Someone on those sights in those states is willing to let you tag along. No pun intended(tag along).

Unit 2A in New Mexico (Carson National Forrest) is a very good place to DYI and I have not had any problems getting drawn there. If it's dry, just find a water source and they will come. If it rain's alot which isn't the norm there (but that's all it did this last season) then prepare to walk and glass ALOT.

Colorado draws have to be in by Apr 3, You can still apply on line.

I have hunted area 15......Gore range for years. I applied fir 1st combined season Oct 20-28, If I don't draw, I simply buy an OC Bull tag. Hey, always room for one more!

well your to late for the wyoming draw. but try area 38 late season cow tag. i think it is type 6. this allows you to hunt a portion of 38, that always needs cows taken out.you should be able to pick one up on the 2nd draw in july.
good luck, oh ya this area is just above sheridan wyoming.
In most cases the left over cow tags are in great hunting areas with lots of elk that the herd is to large. there all ways left overs in south central wyo. also.
I bought cow tags last year after the 1st of Oct. for a season that opened the 23rd, they had 87 tags the did not sell in that area.

I will add that, the Colorado draw is over on April 3. However, you can get an over the counterbull tag for most of the state. You do not need to be in the draw for that. Good luck!

Try NW Colorado GMU 11. Maybelle, west of Craig, northwest of Meeker. You should be able to get a bull OTC or cow left-over.
