We have buck mulie tags for unit 38 for Oct 15-19, anyone have any tips on that area? It's west of BlackHawk and north of I70.

silvertip,

My tag is for 46 which is due south of your unit. I don't know if you have been up there lately, but it will depend on the snow and what altitude you plan on hunting. I was up in 46 2 weeks ago for a look see. I saw more elk sign then deer. The snow was about knee deep on the north side and melting good on the south facing slopes.I am afraid the deer have moved down lower which is all private land. I talked to the biologist for the area and said same thing "depends on snow level, wouldn't hang out much above 10,000ft, but I haven't been up there lately". I will hold on to thatadvice but hunt as planned (10,000 to 11,000) because it has been warm. I'm heading up again in about an hour. Who knows maybe the big ones might still be hanging out in the thick pockets.

That is what makes hunting 4th season here a challenge.

Hope this helps.

Goodluck let us know of your success!!

Charlie,
How have you been? I have not heard much from you. Anyway, give me a call. I have a few buddies that hunt up in that area. Good luck.
