Thinking of moving to Montana
#71
Well, Mr. High and Almighty of the East, read my post, I never said eastern montana sucked so quote me rite when quoting. I thought the civil war ended a long time ago.
Also I read the 2005 hunting regs and it clearly states that I can hunt in hunting units 620, 621, and 622. ( Even if I live west of the divide) If you have any different regs than I do, please turn me on to it as I would hate to break any laws. I usually hunt in different units thoughout the state from Gardiner to Dillion and 410 and 401, and also on this side of the divide in 101 and 109. I just like hunting different terrain, even though I can shoot probaly most game found in montana in my yard, its not harvesting the animal to me, but its the hunt that lures me.
As far as no westerners answering any of your question, I don't think being a westerner or easterner has anything to do with it, when I respond to a post, I don't look and say he's a new yorker or whatever and ignore it, what little I may know I like to try to share it regardless where an individual is from. To stero-type all westerners is ludicious, its like saying all white folks are white trash, I'm sure there are some that don't apply (ain't met many though) so don't stero=type me either.
Just because people don't answer your questions don't take it personal and like most time is limited and we can't read and respond to every post, hell it took me 7 pages on this to realize it. Sometimes I just don't get in here that often but if I can ever help you on this end, PM me. Good day, Bobby

121553,
Go read my post again as it was not meant to stereo type you at all. I was not quoting you, I was quoting other posters and attempting to point out what I was frustrated with. I said I have no issue with you I was simply asking you a question. I have not issue with where you hunt. It is free and open public land so hunt away.
I will not longer ask anyone from West of Havre for anything further so I will leave it at that period. Enjoy.

Well, I guess it is the same in every state. My state is the same way with demographic area and idealisms. I plan on flying up to Billings either July 1st or July 8th. I will spend about a week up there looking around to see for myself what I like. My family will be making the trip with me so we can decide on something we all can deal with. We were looking on the Musselshell River as well as a town called Custer (I think that was the name). Most everything my wife likes tends to be on the South side of the state. We will see!!!!

K2S, about the time you get here, I'll be landing in west palm to do some bass fishin in Ockachobee. You get out this way make sure you tour Glacier off hwy 2.
Elkinmt, I am hunting the river and islands just west of the bend across from caroll coolie, I want to go out and scout but the rains and gumbo clay is not a good ideal at this time, anyway, I think I know where there going to be come sept.

121553 the bass fishing in lake Okeechobee is great. That is about an hour drive from where I live. Are you going guided or self guided? Should be pretty good we have had about 15' of rain since June 1st. Elkinmt thanks for the invite, I may be calling you!

K2S, My brother has a bass tracker and is really set up for bass fishing, even though I always outfish him.
We have reservations at the Anglers Inn in Clewiston and will be working the west shore towards Moorehaven and the North shore and the Monkey box. Seems like that lake is always on the rise this time of year with all the summer rains you guys got down there, I know those bass are going to be scattered. We will be throwing lures only and I like using the creame worms, rattle trap , jerk bait (for a jerk fisherman) and spinner baits. I have two rods set up with 20# test line and One with 30# to horse those hawgs from the thick cover. You got any suggestions for fishing that lake? Thanks, Bobby
