Baiting anyone?
I have a huge timber hole. Aprox 250 acres of THICK flooded timber, with a river running through it. We have cleared 1 acre timber holes, and posted up blinds in vairous locations. We do fairly well, but not half as good as the guys hunting the 250 acres south of us. They have 250 acres bordering my land, and theirs is WIDE OPEN. NO TIMBER. To be specific, in the winter their 250 looks like a huge lake that is 3 ft. deep. Well, those guys are wearing the ducks out, year after year. We know they are killing ducks, we actually talk to them sometimes. What is our problem? We are experienced callers, we have a great decoy spread, we are brushed up well. The ducks sometimes just fly right by our spread, only to fall into one of theirs. What can we do to pull more of these ducks in our area? Are they baiting? Should we plant Jap Millet? Is hunting directly over Jap Millet baiting?

First of all check your regs on the millet. With that being said, where we hunt you can hunt directly over millet and other crops as long as it has not been manipulated to attract waterfowl (ex: intentenally cutting or knocking it down to disperse the seed.) The lakes that we hunt is aerial seeded with millet by the state.
Generally the ducks are gonna go where the food is.
