Default setup question

We are pretty froze up here in michigan, but I know of an area that has open water. I scouted the other day and found a little bit of everything in this area. There were some mallards with a few geese and some divers. There were a lot of ducks and geese in a fairly small area (maybe a 3-4 acre area). I have about 1doz goose, 1doz divers and about 2doz mallard decoys that I am able to put out. My question is how to possition the different kind of decoys. I was thinking of using the traditional V formation with the mallards and putting the Geese towards the end of the V on one side and the divers on the other. Any input on how you would place the decoys would be appreciated.

Thank you

Chris

I would try to make my decoys look like what you saw the real birds do with a hole 20 -30 yds away from you for birds to land

Put your duck decoys in kind of a J shape with the open end down wind. Put your geese decoys up wind of the duck decoys and off to one side 20 yards or so and in family bunchs. put a pintail or two in the pocket you want the ducks to land in.
