Thats what I have used for years , the stuff will not rot or go bad . I have decoys with tared line on them from when my dad still duck hunted.

I use a camo line from Bimart, old scrap gears and sprockets from work [small ones] and put a rubber band thing that the wife uses on her hair to wrap around the neck when I wind up the cord.
