Default New to Duck hunting

Hi Guys,
Just started Duck hunting this year.. Been out the last 2 days but haven't seen anything.. I'm hoping someone can tell me what i might be doing wrong.. I've been hunting 3 different marshes in my area that i've seen ducks in the past. I'm in New York and the weather changed on us this past friday. received 4 inches of snow and the temp has dropped into the 20's each night.. the last 2 mornings, a thin layer of ice has covered the marsh But by the afternoon they are thawed out. Next couple of days should be in the 50's. So i'm hoping things will change..

if there small marshes dont put out as many decoys. are ya callin to much? the biggest mistake people make is callin too much. the colder the temperature the better it will be. if your marsh freezes over just take anything you can find to bust the water open. if thats the only open marsh around thats not froze up the ducks should pore in there.

were from kentucky and we like it that way

canis_lupus has it right. You have to find the birds 1st. This time of year can be tough if all of the locals have split and the migration hasn't started. Put on some miles and try to find some birds if you want to have any luck.

Get ready to get addicted when you start shooting ducks. Maybe the ducks are somewhere else then were you are located. Just a thought!!
