Default Blind advice to a 16 year old

This year I hunted out of small cramped blinds with 2 of my friends, and after the season we decided it is time to make a good blind thats big enough, and blends in well. The originial idea was to have a canoe garage, but the discount canoe we picked up is 17 feet long, and thats a lot longer then the blind. I am hunting on shore in a marsh, the blind needs to fit 3 people and room for gear. I have done welding and woods classes in school, so any ideas you have will be great. Thanks
Joey

Use camo netting too conceal your canoe, garages are a pain,, especially if you build one in an area that has fluctuating water levels.. Bigger isnt always better with duckblinds,, myself and a buddy have a small blind in an area that has several large blinds. we typically do much better than the other blinds. put a 1/3 roof on it,, something you can hide under with brush hanging over another 1/3rd... paint the inside of the blind a dark color.

Swampthing is correct. Also try to blend the blind in with natural vegetation so that it looks like a grassy noll and not a duck blind.

Cedar makes excellent camoing material,, stays green ALOT longer than cut cattails will.. throw in bunches of cattails too break up the blob look. make sure you have a window where you can see out the back,, nothing fancy just a less dense spot of camo material.

Prefab your frame before you take it out,, much easier doing this than building on-site.. use large bolts for your main connection spots. cut a bunch of 4 inch blocks(scrap 2x4's works good)and several pieces of strapping(we use door or window trim,, buddy does construction it was free)too go around the outside of the blind,, makes camoing alot easier,, just shove it under the straps. our strapping lasts 3-4 years,, once in a while we have too renail,, much easier than chickenwire or zip-ties.
