I did pretty good. I hunt out on 79 near Taylor. Almost every duck was a gadwall, I dont get why there are so many of them. Also got my first greenhead ever, we never see them out there. A couple of green winged teal, a pintail, and yeah, almost all gadwalls. Howd you do where you hunt?

I hunt Texas every year, since I live here. I hunt around the Boyd, Tx area(a little NW of Eagle Mountain Lake)on private ponds and near some old sand and gravel pits that are filled with water. This year was sure strange. We took alot of ducks this year despite the drought. Seems like if there was a mud hole anywhere around, it would have ducks on it. Putting out decoys and taking them back up was the hard part in knee deep mud. We need rain badly! I also noticed that most of the ducks we took this year were gadwals too. We did take a few teal, widgeon, pintail, canvasbacksand mallards along with a few canadian honkers. I was also suprised at the high number of shovelers this year, most of which we passed on. Good Luck to everyonein Texas on this last weekend of the season!
