Hi I just got some nice quail and i plan too release them can you please tell me what i need too know about rasing them and releasing?
Anything you know would help so please give suggestions

how old are they?
what are your weather conditions?
what state are you from (in other words, do you live in a cold state where the winter will be going on for a while?)

I live in Central Pa the weather is ok in the summer but in the winter its cold and i have 22 acres of land with like 1 little acre in the middle of it that is a field its pretty nice. Also I need suggestions on what habitat they like too thank you.

k, i live in western ohio
i raise pheasants, quail, and hungarian partridge
our weather is about the same, so i'll tell you what we do
cover can be: dwarf sorghum, switch grass, clover, milo, millet, small grain plants like these are good cover.
if your quail have been inside so far this year... they may not adjust too well to the outdoors right now, wait until the weather breaks a bit.. keep them inside, low lights, until the weather is more stable.... or you will loose all of them.

I will tell you how i raise my Quail

My Quail are outside 24:7 i have them in a pen that is 8 feet long and 5 feet tall i have a little box for them too go in , and at every corner i have pine tree cover's too cover the corner so they can go under it and I have 5 males and 5 females in one cage. Also can you tell me some stuff about pheasent I am gonna start rasing them this spring because a place here gives baby chicks away for free because they hatch too many out.

the quail are at the adult stage right now and are used to being taken care of... you may not want to release this batch to the wild until warmer weather comes... there will be insects, and vegetation for them to eat and have cover in.
when we sell pheasants to release to the wild they are about 5- 6weeks old. Theyare past the baby stage. But, not quite adult. This way they develop their sharpness to exist in the wild on their own. They don't get used to being taken care of.
The quail you have should covey back up to the pen if you leave a few of them in there..
