Turkey Hunting Whether it's spring or fall doesn't matter to this bunch. Great tips on calling, bustin flocks, using blinds and more.

I pretty much let jakes walk. we have enough turkeys around here that i can be picky for a little while and hold out for a 2 year+ old bird..usually around here, they max out at 5" beard ona jake.

Here in NY you get two tags so the first gobbler i see i will shot but i would hold off until later in the season before shooting another jake.

i think i'd pass a jake on the first or second day, but once i hit the 3rd day and after i think i'd take a jake for sure.

I just cant see my self shooting a jake. There are so many toms in the area where I hunt but even besides that, It seems like shooting some nice bucks then shooting one with a pencil rack the next year. I think if you pass on the jakes it just makes the overall hunting better for years to come. There is nothing wrong with it, I just dont want to shoot one.
