I just saw the new Win. Short Turkey 1300. It is a 12 Ga./3 inch, in MOBU with a 18" barrel.
Does anyone think the 18" barrel would limit the range of this good looking gun?
Thanks, Roman.

A shorter barrel will cost you velocity. You may want to shoot #4's. They would have more impact at lower velocities. On the other hand it would be handy in the brush.

Well thats what I suspected. I bought it yesterday and hope to pattern soon. It's funny, I helped the shop keeper unbox the gun and fell head over heels for it. Had to have go back yesterday and buy.

General rule is 10 fps per inch in difference from test barrel length(usually and 30 inch barrel). So you lose approximately 120 ft/sec at the barrel with the 18" barrel. I doubt the the turkeys will notice.<img src=icon_smile_wink.gif border=0 align=middle>

been shooting that gun now for a few years. Indian creek with hevi 13 #6. No need for number 4's. Knock down power at long ranges enough to drop adult eastern gobblers like stones. No issue there at all. Enjoy your gun.

Good advice for the shorter barrel...amp things up with some better turkey loads..Nitro 7's would be a good choice also..Great gun I have a 1300 turkey with 22" barrel
