Anyone use Primos mouth calls? I went to our local Gander Mountain retail outlet to look for turkey calls. I don't have a single call to my name yet but I do know I will probably go with a mouth style call so I can keep my hands on my bow. Primos has a package deal that has 3 different mouth calls plus an instrucional video that includes 2 hunts to watch.Any feedback on their calls would be appreciated.

F-I-C,Mike brings up a good point a diaphragm needs to stay stationary at the roof of your mouth to work properly, and the key is finding one that fits your pallet to where it does'nt slide all over the place. If air gets around the call it wont function right and if the call is sliding around at the roof of your mouth thats what happens.Sometimes it may take awhile to break-in a call to where it does'nt do this,or you can make it fit better by trimming the outside materail off. Some campanys like Quakerboy make large and small frame calls or like H.S.struts alumi line of diaphragms calls you can bend the frame to make it fit better.I've tried a few of Primos diaphragms before and they did not fit my pallet comfortably enough to satisfy me,but that does'nt mean it wont work for you.H.S.strut sells a video called "So You want to be a Turkey Hunter"that covers calls and calling that may help. They also have a series of videos called H.S strut University series dealing with specific calls such as mouth, friction, box, and locater calls, that include a call and the video and how to use it.Cabelas carrys it!Hope this helps. <img src=icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle>

I like the Primos calls the best because they were the easiest for me to learn with and can be easily trimmed to fit your pallet like most mouth calls . Just try a few different brands and see what YOU like the best .

I like Primos calls but I found that they are very hard to learn on. They dont seem to have any consistency in their call sizes which makes it hard for a begininner. Also I find their stacked calls awful big in my mouth. Having said all that they do sound nice once you get onto them.

I tried many different mouth calls and couldn't make any of 'em work, then I tried the Primos Hook series. Wow, for a beginner, the Palate Plate design makes all the difference in the world. I'd suggest you try one from the Hook series first, to get the hang of it. I now use mouth calls from M.A.D exclusively. Good luck.
